FAREWELL TO GUIDE CAPTAIN

MISS M. SMEETON HONOURED A very enjoyable tea was given yesterday morning in the Lyceum Club in honour of Aliss Alerle Smeeton, who Is leaving for England next week. The hostesses were Dr. Buckley Turkington, Provincial Commissioner of the Auckland Division of the Girl Guides’ Association, and the provincial executive end commissioners of the association. Miss Smeeton, who has been act-ing-commissioner for Mount Eden and Alount Albert, will carry on her Guide work while abroad and will attend camp at Foxlease. She has been Guide captain and ranger captain and has been secretary at Otimai, where many happy meetings of Guides have been held. The lounge was most attractive with irises and other spring flowers, and Miss Smeeton was presented with a bouquet of fragrant violets accompanied by wishes for a most enjoyable “ 4 - ****“*»« *■ *irne abroad,
