SOCIAL AFTERNOON

PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL GUILD ENTERTAINS PAPATOETOE BRANCH There was a large attendance at the monthly social afternoon of the Papatoetoe branch of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild, held in St. John’s Sunday School Hall, Great South Road, Papatoetoe, yesterday. A delightful programme of musical items was contributed by Mrs. Leonard, pianoforte solo; Misses Margaret and Mary Wilson, vocal duet; Miss Bertha Wyllie, vocal solo; Miss Margaret McFarland, humorous sketch; Mrs. Carr and Miss Ruby Paisley, vocal duet, Miss Leah Roseveare. humorous sketch; Miss R. Daisley, vocal solo; Mr. J. Littler, vocal solo; playette entitled “Miss Willis’s Will,” by Misses Doreen De Ath, Lulu Hunter, Leah Roseveare, Joyce Knight and Mildred Foster. Mesdames A. Swaffield and Childe acted as accompanists. Stalls were erected in the hall and were a good source of income. They were in charge of Mesdames Muir, Suttie, Misses Ross, Kathleen Kay and Jessie Wilson.
