Junior United Party Holds Gay “At Home”

Bridge and Dancing Enjoyed at Cabaret POPULAR FUNCTION Bridge and dancing was the order of the evening in the Click Clack Cabaret last night, when the Junior United New Zealand Political Organisation held a largelyattended “At Home.” Mr. Llew Jones’s Orchestra provided excellent dance music and everybody spent a very pleasant time. During the evening several enjoyable items were contributed by Miss Veda Nelson ana l\tr. rteg. Richards, songs; Miss Molly Needham, dances: Mr. Ronald Muston, violin solos; and i Mr. Jim Sharpe, humour. Miss Tlieo. j Halpin was accompanist. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Mrs. M. IT. Brown was in flame georgette. and lace. Mrs. MacDonald wore a smart gown of black georgette. Mrs. T. P. Halpin had chosen a black sequined gown. Mrs. B. Marshall was in black velvet and goirl lace. Mrs. D. Inglis was in almond green taffeta, with diamente relief. Mrs. P. Thomson's black georgette gown was beaded In silver. Mrs. A. E. Collins wore a cloth of gold gown. Mrs. F. Brown was in lilac crepe de chine. Mrs. J. Trevethiek was gowned in black georgette, sequined in black and red. Mrs. Lichtenstein’s black frilled tulle frock was edged with gold. BRIDGE AND 500 MT. HOBSON CROQUET CLUB The Click Clack lounge, with its softly shaded lights, was occupied yesterday to its full capacity, when the Mount Hobson Croquet Club held its monthly bridge and 500 party. Mrs. J. C. Badeley, president of the club, was hostess, wearing a henna marocain frock with black coat: and black hat encircled with ospreys. Mrs. Uarbutt was convenor" of the party, and the committee assisting her comprised Mrs. W. Johnston, Mrs. Donaldson, Mrs. Guthrie. Mrs. Hodge, Mrs. D. Clayton, Mrs. P. Macfarlane, Mrs. Somferville and Mrs. A. J. Farquhar, with Mrs. W. E. AJrey as secretary. The prize-winners were Mrs. Ross for stationary bridge, and Mrs. Thornton in the’ progressive division. Mrs. Darby won the 500 competition prize. The players included Mrs. E. V. Sutherland, Mrs. J. Mark, Mrs. J. Macklow, Mrs. Maxwell, Mrs. N.' Wade, Miss M. Hayes, Mrs. E. J. Boucher, Miss G.
