STABILITY QUESTIONED ENGINEER’S WARNING NOTE (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Today. Tlie need for close observation of the Hamilton traffic bridge for further movement was emphasised by Mr. R. Worley, borough engineer, at the Hamilton Borough Council meeting last evening. Those who built the bridge had no idea the carrying capacity would be tested so severely, he said. The loading of the structure was not up to the Public Works Department’s specifications. the type having long been superceded. Cattle constituted the heaviest loading. A letter was tabled from the Minister of Public Works refusing to send his own engineer to make a report. The council referred the question back to the Works Committee for consideration.
