Mention must be made of ‘‘Tiny” J Douglas and his talented jazz band, ? which features the latest hits, and j i which in itself is well worth hearing 1 ! and seeing. ! Crane Wilbur, pioneer star of the j screen, who deserted it to become a famous stage star and pjaywright, has returned, as the latest stage celebrity to enter talking pictures. Wilbur has signed a contract with Metro -Gold wynMayer, following his success in London with his own play. “Jealousy,” in which he also directed. He is to direct, write for and perhaps act in talking films. Charles King and Bessie Love, who scored so successfully in “The Broadway Melody,” are to be again featured in- Road Show.” by Metro- ! Goldwyn-Mayer. A number of original i song numbers are being written for the ! production, which is to be screened | with 100 per cent, dialogue.
