OLD OFFENDER TELLS THE TALE LIFE OF FRAUD “He lias been telling stories like this all his life,” remarked Sub-Inspector McCarthy after telling Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court this morning that John Lennox had obtained £1 8s from Norman 'Wilson by telling him that lie was J. Cameron, treasurer of the Engineers’ Association, and that he required a quotation for the supply of liquor for 40 persons at a smoke concert. Lennox, aged 63, pleaded guilty on the charge of false pretences, and Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that the man had gone Into a city hotel ordering about £SO worth of liquor and cigars. It was the same old tale that he had been telling for years. Mr. Hunt: All liis life. Lennox was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
