BREMEN LOWERS HER TIME BY EIGHT HOURS WONDERFUL RECORD BROKEN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) NEW YORK, Monday. The North German Lloyd liner Bremen arrived at New York at 3 p.m. today on her maiden voyage from Cherbourg. She had crossed the Atlantic in faster time than any other commercial vessel. The new German vessel has wrested from Britain the record she had held for 22 years by reason of the Mauretania’s wonderful performance. The Bremen’s time was 4 days IS hours 15 minutes. She thus beat the Mauretania’s record by S hours 17 minutes.
