KING UP AGAIN
HIS MAJESTY RECOVERING FROM OPERATION “SATISFACTORY PROGRESS” (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.20 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. It is officiary stated that the Kins is making satisfactory progress. He was able to sit up yesterday for the first time since his recent operation, and is sitting up again today. FAVOURABLE BULLETIN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 11.10 a.m. LONDON, Thursday. The latest bulletin states: —“During the week since the operation the King has steadily progressed. The purulent discharge from the abscess cavity has ceased.” The bulletin is signed by Sir Stanley Hewett, Sir Hugh Rigby, Sir Wilfred Trotter and Lord Dawson. The doctors spent an hour with his Majesty. It is not expected that the healing will be of long duration. With the King's general health good, it is hoped that the departure for Sandringham will not be long delayed.
