MAJESTIC
'THREE PASSIONS” ON FRIDAY
After seeing the air sequences in “The Air Circus,” now at ""the Majestic Theatre, it is easy to believe the advance Press stories which stated that Sue Carol, David Rollins, and Arthur Lake learned to fly before making this picture. These three youngsters perform in airplanes like veterans at the controls. Their flying ability added to their acting ability did much to make this Fox production one of the best that has been seen here in a long time. While the thrills and exciting moments are furnished bv the scenes in the air the picture is not lacking in heart interest and sentimental appeal. There is a winsome quality about Sue Carol that makes her entriely charming. In her efforts to make David Rollins a fearless airman she wins the sympathy of the audience. The charm of the acting in this picture also is enhanced by the presence of Louise Dresser, who plays the role of young Rollin’s mother. As always she gives a perfect performance. Arthur Lake, the third member of the trio of youngsters, is absolutely infectious in his performance. The audience likes him from the lirst flash on the screen. The second big picture on the Majestic programme is “Dream of Love,” a spectacular and colourful story starring Joan Crawford and Xils Asther. It is the romance of a gipsy girl who became a famous actress and won the heart of a king. “Three Passions,” which conies to the Majestic on Friday, is the first picture Rex Ingram, famous for “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse,” “Scaramouche,” and “The Garden of Allah.” and as the man who discovered Rudolph Valentino, Alice Terry and Ramon Novarro, has made for a Britiish company.
