Many blocks of flats, according to the latest European designs, are being planned with a quadrangle in the centre of a hollow square of buildings. The flat-dwellers thus have their own private garden and a common, attractive outlook on all sides. Above is a corner of a Melbourne block that has been built according to this plan. *
