BUCKLAND BOWLING CLUB
The annual meeting of the Buckland Bowling Club held on Monday evening was presided over by Mr. R. Wright. The report stated that the B singles were won by Mr. Griffin, and the president’s pairs by Messrs. A. Steele arid A. P. Horne. Tiro winners of the vicepresident’s pairs were Messrs. Campbell and H. Bullock. The Jefferies-Fulton-Tonkin Cup competed for annually between Tuakau and Buckland was retained by the club. Two successful one-day full-rink tournaments were held during the season, two of the club’s rinks being the winner and runner-up. The financial statement showed that the bank overdraft had been reduced from £34 Os 9d to £lO 11s 9d. The gross income totalled £ll4 17s lOd and the expenditure amounted to £97 8s lOd. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. A. Hewitt; vice-presidents, Messrs. R. Fulton and H. H. D. Wily; secretary. Mr. W. Richings; treasurer. Mr. A. P. Horne; green superintendent. Mr. R. Wright; selector. Mr. H. Bullock; Match Committee. Messrs. D. Stringer, R. Wright and H. Bullock; executive. Messrs. A. H. Steele. C. Butcher, H. Bullock and T. Holland: representative on the Auckland Centre. Mr. A. C. Tonkin; delegates to the Northern Waikato Bowling Association. Messrs. R. Wright and R. Fulton; auditor, Mr. H. J. Wily.
