TAURANGA FIRE BOARD
The quarterly meeting of the Tauranga Fire Board was held on Tuesday, Mr. Clay, chairman, presiding. Superintendent Padlie repoi'ted that 500 ft of liore had come to hand. There had been three calls during the quarter, but they were all of a minor nature. Attendances at practices had been well maintained, and the brigade was well up to standard. The secretary stated that the street fire-alarms had now been connected up with the superintendent’s house and the telephone bureau. Accounts amounting to £lO7 were passed for payment. The Borough Council advised that for the protection of hose at a fire it had passed a by-law making it illegal for vehicles to pass over the hose.
The chairman and several members of the board inspected the station and plant. Everything was found to be in first-class order.
