NO STATE ADVANCES (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Tuesday. The State Advances Department advanced nothing to the fruit-preserving industry for the year which ended March 31 last, according to a return submitted to Parliament today. The total amount of advances outstanding at that date was shown to be £37,564. During the year the following made default in the payment of principal or interest in respect to advances under the Act: —Marlborough Fruit Packing and Preserving Co., Blenheim, arrears £1,854: Nelson Co-operative Fruit Co., Nelson, arrears £311; Apsey and Co., Hastings, arrears £350; and F. Sisson, Papanui. arrears £l2O.
