“THE AIR CIRCUS” Proving that they are as adept in touching the heart strings of film fans as they are in providing laughter, three young film satellites are on the screen at the Majestic Theatre in the Fox Films production, “The Air Cir—cus," and etched their names more deeply into the film favourite lists of those assembled. “The Air Circus” is a picture that grips one’s interest with the opening scene and never releases it. This one, unlike many plots, is unfolded in such a manner as to keep one guessing right down to the final fadeout. David Bol—lins. around whom the major portion of the story revolves, captivates with his boyish wholesomeness, and excep—tional handling of this Work by 110 - ard Ilawks and Low Seller, the direct—ors, keeps Rollins's victory over fear of the air encountering so many obstacles that it seems doubtful, until the last few minutes of the picture, whether it \vill be victory or failure. Behind the balcony where he greets his subjects, the newly-crowned mon-‘ arch sees a beautiful girl in tears Shei is his wife, but never can she become‘ his queen! Such is the dramatic high- ‘ light that climaxes the powerful ro-l mance in “Dream Love,” the second‘ big picture on the programmeystarring‘ Joan Crawford. ; In bringing this modernised version of the. famous old French play, “Adrienne Lecouvreur," to the screen. Fred Niblo has given motion picture lovers a remarkable drama. filmed upon a most elaborate scale and with one of thei finest casts assembled in recent months. Miss Crawford and Nils Asther iriumph as the strolling gipsy player and the heir to the throne. Bliss Crawford proving that she is equally well at home in roles of the deepest dramatic significance as in the flaming: youth style she has recently been identified with. Asther's portrayal will cause many 7!. feminine heart to flutter and many a masculine star to grow uneasy about his luurels.
