EX-SOLDIER’S OFFENCE • ABOUT £6OO INVOLVED Press Association DUNEDIN, Today. In the Dunedin Police Court, James A'hitelaw Ramsay pleaded guilty to making a false statement under the | Pensions Act. The police stated that accused was a disabled soldier I drawing a pension. He was also i a superannuated servant of the Rail- ! way Department, a fact which he j failed to disclose to the Pensions auth- | orities. Restitution would involve ! about £6OO. Counsel said accused did not realise i lie was liable to disclose what he received from the Railway Department, I which, he thought, was a refund of ! money. The case was adjourned to | consider the possibility of restitution.
