MARCH OF THE MINERS
20,000 MEN TO ADVANCE ON SYDNEY WILL GREET MR. BAVIN Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEWCASTLE, Sunday. Preparations are being made for a march of 20,000 unemployed miners from Newcastle to Sydney in a solid body, in order, to demonstrate to citizens of the State capital the effects of the dispute on the northern coalfields, and bring pressure on the Government for a re-opening of the closed collieries. The march will be timed so that the men will arrive in Sydney to meet the Premier, Mr. T. R. Bavin, on his return from abroad.
