GIPSIES DETAINED

NOT ALLOWED TO LAND YET IN SYDNEY FAMILY ABOARD NIAGARA SYDNEY, Sunday. Pending inquiries, Mr. Peter Xury and the members of his family of gipsies, who were unable to land in New Zealand, and who came to Sydney by the Niagara, are being detained on board the vessel by the Customs authorities. Mr. Xury says he was most surprised that the New Zealand authorities refused them permission to land, as none of them had ever been in trouble.
