A WIDE, BUSY WATERFRONT THOROUGHFARE extending from the end of Queen Street to the western reclamation can be visualised from this new picture of Quay Street. Gladstone Buildings (in the left foreground) have been acquired by the City Council for £41,000, and it is proposed to set back the Quay Street frontage 15 feet. Progress of the work on the new viaduct, which will be the connecting link between the city and the new vehicular ferry wharf in St. Mary’s Bay can be seen at the top of the picture.
