SEARCH FOR CASH

THIEVES IN LAUNDRIES ARE DISAPPOINTED TWO PREMISES ENTERED Though they entered two laundries and rifled three or four cash boxes, thieves on Thursday evening secured a poor haul. Visits were made to the premises of the Auckland Steam Laundry in Great North Road, and the Bagwash Laundry Company, of 8S Surrey Crescent. It is presumed that the thieves were aware the employees were to be paid on the following day, and anticipated that considerable sums of money would be available. In each case a padlock was broken to gain entrance. At the Auckland Laundry Company’s building the office was ransacked and between £8 and £lO was stolen. The haul at the Bagwash building amounted to £1 10s and a few postage stamps.
