VERGERS SCANDALISED
WOMEN STUDENTS APPEAR AMERICANS’ RESOURCE (Australian and Liz. Press Association.) Reed. 1.45 p.m. COLOGNE, Friday. This tropically hot morning, 100 American women students who are touring Europe appeared at the Cathedral door dressed in male riding at~ tire. The scandalised vergers refused admittance. The students, noting the guide book said “The Cathedral must not be missed,” marched to a. neighbouring store and purchased a large quantity of cheap coloured print overalls, which they slipped on. They returned to the Cathedral and were readily admitted.
