“SHOOTING TO KILL”

PROTEST AT MILITARY INSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT TO COMMENT Did a military instructor explain to boys at the Seddou Memorial Technical College the point at which to aim in order to make the shot most likely to kill? A woman complained that this had been done when she communicated with the college board of managers yesterday afternoon. The board sent the complaint to the Defence Department for comment. The complaint said the boys in question had handled rifles and the instructor had explained the best way to kill a man. The complainant objected to such instruction being given to young boys. "Did the military instructor exceed his authority or did he instruct according to rule?” asked one member. Mr. H. S. W. King, the chairman, also asked if it were usual for definite instructions to be laid down.
