GAME WITH LANCASHIRE (Australian and K.Z. Press Association) (United Service) -Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Thursday. Lancashire in its first innings against the South African cricketers made 384. The South Africans in their first innings compiled 218 (Siedle 64, Iddon five wickets for 34), and in their second innings 36 runs for one wicket. Stumps were then drawn. GENTLEMEN V. PLAYERS Players compiled 253 (Hendren 89), and Gentlemen scored 310 (Carr 64, Wyatt 63). Freeman took five wickets for 103. Players in their second innings made 29 without loss of wickets. GREY LYNN CROQUET CLUB At the annual meeting of the Grey Lynn Croquet Club, the balance sheet and secretary’s report showed a substantial balance after a very successful year. Mrs. Witham presided. The prize for first year championship singles was won by Mrs. Dallimore, and Mrs. Collard was the recipient of a copper vase for the aggregate for progressive croquet playing during the season. The following officers were elected:— Patroness, Mrs. C. F. Gardner; president. Mrs. Witham; secretary and treasurer! Mrs. Church; executive committee, Mesdames Cox, Dallimore, Laing, Brown, Collard, Jeffery; match committee, Mesdames Witham, Whyte, Bailey; coach, Mrs. Bailey; green superintendent, Mrs. Dallimore.
