O'Connor, father of the House of Commons, the recipient this afternoon of deeds ot annuity of a capital value of j £IO.OOO, which had been subscribed by his friends and colleagues in both ! Houses. The ceremony, which took place on I the terrace ot the Houses of Parlia ment, was presided over by the Prim' Minister. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald. ■ who made the presentation, and the ‘speakers included Mr. Stanley Bald win. Mr. Lloyd George and Lord Bir 'kenhead. | By a clause in the trust, the capital I will upon Mr. O’Connor's death ! used to found a scholarship. Mr. O’Connor, who has been a member of the House of Common* since 1885. is 81 years old. He is still engaged in journalistic work.
