WILL FLY FROM AFRICA

SOUTHERN CROSS HOP ACROSS ATLANTIC KINGSFORD SMITH’S PLANS (United Service) Reed. 10.8 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. “It is now almost definite that the Southern Cross will fly the Atlantic,” Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith told the London correspondent of the Sydney “Sun” and the Melbourne “Herald.” “We are not attempting: a spectacular flight; but we will fly to Africa until we find a convenient spot to take off. We may even go as far as South Africa, thence flying to South America.” The arrangements will be finalised after the plane has been reconditioned.
