Bishop Liston, Roman Catholic Coadjutor Bishop of Auckland, travelled by train last evening to Wellington.
Mr. J. T Grose, general manager of the National Bank of New Zealand, is \ isiting Auckland. He will leave Wellington on August 13 on a visit to London, via America.
Sir Alexander Herdman and Lady Herdman were passengers by the Limited from Wellington this morning, and left the train at Hamilton, where Sir Alexander will preside over the Supreme Court sessions. At the dinner of the New Zealand Company of Master Mariners the president, the Hon. Sir Charles S tat ham, mentioned that Captain Christopher Welch, who was the oldest member of the company, would on November 5 celebrate his 100th birthday. He lives at Carey’s Bay, Port Chalmers.
