WELCOME TO VICAR
FUNCTION AT THAMES The parishioners of St. George’s Anglican Church welcomed the Rev. I-l. B. Davidson and Mrs. Davidson to Thames on Monday evening. The welcome was in the form of a social gathering at which some 200 church people attended. In welcoming the vicar to the parish, Mr. C. 11. Poulgrain, the people’s church warden, said they were all grateful for once more having a permanent clergyman appointed. From what he had already seen and heard of Mr. Davidson he was sure the right man had been selected. The vicar would find several institutions already established, which were a great help to the church. On behalf of the parishioners he extended a sincere welcome to the vicar and his wife. In replying, Mr. Davidson said he was pleased with the warmth of the welcome and was sure his term of office in Thames would be pleasant. Musical items were given by Mesdames Willis. Williams and Miss Donaldson and Messrs. W. Johnston and J. A. Bally. Mr. A. Williams’s orchestra played several selections. Supper wos provided by the Women’s Guild.
