DANCING AND CARDS

BUFFALOES’ GATHERING MANCHESTER UNITY HALL Members of the R.A.0.8. were hosts at an enjoyable euchre party and dance given to their friends at the Manchester Unity Hall, Victoria Street, last evening. This handsomely designed hall, with its up-to-date appointments, makes a splendid setting for social parties, and the first gathering of the season was well attended. The Regal Five supplied excellent music for the dance programme, which comprised items from the newest jazz to the old-time schottisclie. The distribution of quaint favours made a merry interlude, and songs by Mr. P. Evans and Mr. O. Rees were pleasingly given. Euchre was played in the card-room upstairs, with Mr. W. J. Norton in charge of arrangements. First prizes were won by Miss Spinley and Mr. A. J. Mann. Mrs. M. Smith was second in the women’s division, and Mr. C. Buckley second in the men’s. Consolation prizes went to Miss W. McDonald and Mr. J. Blackman. Mr. A. T. Lane was an untiring secretary, and the committee assisting him in the success of the evening was composed of Messrs. J. L.
