MAJESTIC

“THE AIR CIRCUS” TOMORROW

This evening will see the final screening at the Majestic Theatre of the delightfully humorous tale, “The Cohens and Kellys,” starring George Sydney and Charlie Murray. Airplanes and hand signals took the place of the megaphone while Howard Hawks and Lew Seiler made “The Air Circus,” Fox Films production coming to the Majestic Theatre tomorrow. In this aviation picture the trio of young principals, comprising David Rollins, Arthur Lake and Sue Carol, actually learned to fly, since the theme of the story is that young America takes to the air, inspired by the Lindbergh example. They thus present the first group of screen players who ever have mastered aviation in order to act in the clouds. Hitherto, concealed pilots have been used to handle tho ships while “doubles” sat in for the real actors in making air shots.

Tho story concerns two small town boys who take up flying. One is a "natural” airman, who cares little about the technique of ground work, while the other is out to carry on where his brother left off as a World War ace. At the school both fall in love with the same girl (Miss Carol), who with her brother (Charles Delaney), operate the field. The war hero’s brother is a marvel at mechanics, but a coward in the air, while his pal is just the opposite. Louise Dresser is featured as the mother of Rollins. Joan Crawford plays the role made famous by the great Sarah Bernhardt in "Dream of Love,” which will head the supporting

programme tomorrow. The screen production is a modernised version of “Adrienne Lecouvreur,” which Bernhardt used as a starring vehicle for many seasons in the French capital. Nils Asther plays opposite Miss Crawford in the feature which ?ted. The elaborate

supporting cast includes Aileen Pringle, Warner Oland and Carmel Myers. Other supports will be an Eve’s Review' and a Majestic Magazine with latest news of the old world.
