EVACUATION OF RHINE
ARRANGEMENTS CONSIDERED BY WAR OFFICE British Official "Wireless Reed. 11.26 a.m. RUGBY, Tuesday. Asked whether any instructions had been sent to the British army headquarters in the Rhine occupation zone, as to the proposed arrangements for the evacuation of the occupied territories, the Under-Secretary for War, Mr. E. Shinwell, replied that definite instructions could not be issued until*, a decision had been reached regarding evacuation; but the arrangements which would then be necessary had naturally been considered by the War Office, in conjunction with the general officer com-manding-in-chief of the British Army on the Rhine.
