HANS DELBRUCK DEAD

CAREER OF NOTED GERMAN HISTORIAN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) BERLIN, Tuesday. The death has occurred of Hans Delbruck, historian, in his 81st year. The late Herr Hans Delbruck was born in 1848. He was educated at the Universities of Heidelberg, Greifswald and Bonn. He was a member of the Reichstag, 1884-90, professor of history at Berlin University, formerly editor of the “Preussiche Jahrbucher,” and an expert on the Reichstag Committee of Inquiry into the causes of the collapse of the German Army in 1918. He was the author of “History of the Art of War,” “Government and the Will of the People” and “Universal History.” The last-named was in five volumes and dealt with history from the earliest times to 1889.
