HORA HORA DANCE SUCCESSFUL FOOTBALL CLUB FUNCTION The Horahora Football Club held a successful dance in the ex-Y.M.C.A. Hall on Wednesday evening. The attendance numbered eighty couples. The club colours were used to decorate the hall and made a very effective display. Among those present were: Mrs. T. Conaghan, in blue crepe de chine. Mrs. A. Beesley, who wore black crepe de chine and georgette. Mrs. G. Jones, who was in green georgette with silver trimmings. Mrs. J. Archer, wearing black georgette and lace. Mrs. J. BAZAAR AT OTAHUHU FOR DISTRICT SCHOOL FUNDS Intent on making £he school grounds a place of beauty, the scholars of the Otahuhu District School are holding a series of bazaars. The proceeds are to be devoted to the ground improvement fund and the dental clinic fund. The infant departments held their function recently, and were successful in raising approximately £ 40. The stalls were arranged in front of the infant school and presented an animated appearance, laden with useful goods. The stall-holders were:—Cake stall: Mrs. F. Pollard, convenor, Mrs. Dickie, Mrs. Jameson, Mrs. Flood and. Mrs. Randle. Fancy goods stall: Mrs. Mears, convenor, Mrs. Fuller, Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Rule. Sweets Stall: Mrs. R. Jackson, convenor, Mrs. Simons. Mrs. Hubbard, venor, Mrs. Capp, Miss Peteridge. Produce stall: Miss Allaway, convenor, Mrs. Capp, Mrs. McPeteridge. Lucky dips: Miss Cameron, Miss Williams, Miss Pettigrew. Apple stall: Miss R. Douch. Miss Lanyon, infant mistress, is highly appreciative of the fine assistance given by stall-holders and parents in making the infant bazaar such an undoubted success. Messrs. V. ITocking, was best man. Mr. Hubert Hoffman was groomsman, and Mr. Alex. Hoffman gave his sister away. Air. Allan McGrath and Mr. Victor Hoffman acted as ushers. The bride was charmingly gowned in white souplo satin, flounced with silver lace, which glistened through pointed draperies of silver-edged tulle. A brussel's net veil enhanced the effect, and the bouquet was composed i of roses and sweet peas. The bride j also wore an exquisite pearl brooch, ; an heirloom in the Webster family, j which was sent out from Canada for ; the occasion. IN DAFFODIL RING VELVET The bridesmaids, Miss Jean Gard- j ner and Miss Helen Hoffman, cousin j of the bride, wore artistic frocks of dal- j fodil ring velvet elaborated with wide j bows, and around their heads they had floral velvet bandeaux in uncommon design. Bouquets of daffodils supplied a colourful note. Miss May Bray, of the Jubilee Blind Institute, played the wedding music, and at the conclusion of the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Fraser Barton, the guests, numbering--160, were entertained at Point Erin Park Kiosk. Mrs. Hoffman received the guests wearing a handsome gown of black embossed georgette caught at the side with a diamond buckle and finished with a shoulder posy in orange. Her bouquet toned with the latter, and her hat was black stitched satin with ospreys. She was assisted by Miss Amy Hoffman, wearing a ring velvet draped frock in oriental shades, and velour felt hat. Her bouquet was in cyclamen shades. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. F. V. Hoffman, Mr. and Mrs. Tailby, Mr. S. Donaldson (Mayor of Newmarket) and Mrs. Donaldson, Mr. and Mrs. R. Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Gear.
