HIS MAJESTY’S
SEASON OF GOLDSMITH AND SHERIDAN Mr. Allan Wilkie commences his season of 10 nights in the superb comedies of the 18th century, on Saturday next, and the box plans are now open at Lewis Eady, Ltd. This will provide a unique opportunity for comparison between the comedies of the Elizabethan period and those of Sheridan and Goldsmith. The opening production on Saturday next is “She Stoops to Conquer,” which is to be presented for four nights and a matinee only, followed by performances of “The School for Scandal” and “The Rivals.” Mr. Wilkie’s cast of players will be composed of the same personnel that was seen during his season of Shakespearean drama, including Miss HunterWatts, Mr. Alexander Marsh, Mr. Arthur Keane, Mr. Milton Sands, Mr. John Cairns, Mr. Herbert Sheldrick, Mr. John Cameron, Miss Lorna Forbes and Miss Mildred Howard. A particular feature of these productions is the magnificent costumes of the period, no age being more picturesque in this respect than the days of Garrick and Sheridan.
