PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Pukekohe Borough Council met last evening, the Alayor, Air. John ltoutly, presiding. In connection with the prosecution of an Auckland taxi driver for plying for hire in the borough without a licence issued by the council, in which case the magistrate reserved his decision, the borough solicitors advised that all licences issued by the Auckland City Council in respect of vehicles Plying for hire included the whole oi tno No. 2 highways district. It was decided to withdraw the prosecution. The recommendation of the Work* Committee that the footpaths in CM*’ ton Road and in Massey Avenue Roulston Street to Manukau Road bv attended to was adopted. , _ The Works Committee was asked to furnish an estimate of the cost forming and metalling Roose’s Avenue. -
