LOST BOY FOUND
NIGHT SPENT IN OPEN LONG WALK TO HUNTLY j (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Monday. Craving for adventure, a 14-year-old boy left his home in Auckland a week ago, causing considerable anxiety to his parents. He was taken in charge by the Frankton police late this afternoon. The boy was about to board the train for Taumarunui at 2.15 when the booking clerk at Frankton recognised him from the published description, and communicated with the police. When spoken to, the lad admitted his identity. Apparently a desire to see something of the world prompted the youthful wanderer to leave home. He walked as far as Huntly from Auckland, spending one night in the open and another in a shed. He then tramped to Rotowaro, ID miles from Huntly, where an aunt lives. He left a note - stating that he had called, and took a service car to Hamilton, where he spent last night in a boardinghouse.. His intention was, apparently-, to continue on to Taumarunui and then to Feilding, where he spent his childhood. He looked little the worse for his adventures.
