“THE AWAKENING”
In the United Artist picture, “The Awakening,” Vilma Banky is seen for the first time as a star in her own right. In her past pictures she was always associated with either Ronald Colman or the late Rudolph Valentino. This production brings her into screen eminence with Mary Pickford, Norma Talmadge, Gloria Swanson, Dolores del Rio, Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks. “The Awakening” -is said to be singularly beautiful, simple and often times poignant story. The brilliant musical accompaniment was arranged by Dr. Hugo Riesenfeld. It has complete choral, symphonic and sound effects. According to a recent communication from London, his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales attended a private screening of the U.F.A. super production “Hungarian Rhapsody.” This picture, which was made in the wheat fields of Hungary, stars Willy Fritsch, Dita Parlo and Lil Dagova. Cinema Art Films will release this picture throughout New Zealand.
