PUPUKE CLUB Owing to the bad weather during the *-eck-end the < hampionship matches xvhich were to have been played by members of the Pupuke Golf Club were postponed until Saturday next. A bogey handicap for a trophy presented by Mr. 1 r,. Mackenzie will also be played next Saturday, players to choose their own partners. OTAHUHU CLUB The first qualifying round of the club and junior championships was played by members of the Otahuhu Golf Club on Saturday, when in spite of heavy rain and wind some good cards were returned, the score by I-. Black, the prominent local golfer and one of the five players selected to represent New Zealand in the coming contest in Alelbourne for T he Kirk-Kindeyer Cup, was fareJ’elled at a gathering of golfers at Andrews, Hamilton, on Saturday. The champion was presented with a travelling rug and suit-case as a token £f the esteem in which he is held D y his clubmates. At St. Andrews at the week-end blhy in the Bell Cup competition was finalised. In the semi-finals W. Gunn b *at J. L. Black, 5 and 4, and T. Simpson beat L. Tompkins. 5 and 4. In the final, played the following y ’ Simpson beat Gunn 5 and 4, and thus became the winner of the Bell Cup for this season. In the Consolation Handicap semifinals M. W. Horton, jun., beat T. AtKins, 3 and 1, and B. Wake beat W. * ynne, 2 and 1.
