POST FOR AUCKLANDER
MASSEY COLLEGE POULTRY INSTRUCTION A son of the late general manager of the New Zealand insurance Company, Mr. J. 11. Kistfling, of Auckland, has been appointed to the position of poultry manager at the Massey Agricultural College. r*;i Irnerston North. Recently, in accordance with its aim to incorporate all sides of the farming industry in the college course. the college council decided to set up a poultry department. The object of this department will be the specialised training of students who intend to pursue po u 1 try -farming. It is intended to establish a model “one-man” poultry farm at the college, and practical as well as theoretical training will be given. The scheme has not yet been definitely finalised, but it is probable that students will be able to take either a full course in poultry keeping and the marketing of produce, or .combine this training with the general • instructional course in primary industry provided at the college. Mr. Kissling was educated at King’s College. Auckland, and at Christ’s College, Christchurch. He will take up his new post at the Massey College on August 1.
