DISORDERLY MAN FINED £1 Waving his arms about and wanting to fight everyone in Lome Street last evening, John McDonald attracted tho ; attention of a constable and spent a j night in thd cells. McDonald, aged 44, was charged at the Police Court this morning with being disorderly while drunk. "I was drunk but not disorderly," he said. The constable who arrested him described McDonald's conduct before he was accosted as undoubtedly disorderly. His eye was cut and bleeding. McDonald explained that he had re- ! ceived his injured eye through being struck by a motor-car. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that McDonald was a first offender as far as Auckland was concerned, but that he had not been in the town very long. McDonald was fined £l, in default three days' imprisonment.
