MERCHANTS' REPORTS Alerchants report receipt of overseas cables as follow: Leonard and Son, from their London principal, A. C. Rawson, under date July 12:—“Butter, 1705.. Cheese, white, 89s to 90s: coloured, 925.” A. IT. Turnbull and Company, from their London principals. W. AVeddel and Company, under date July 12:—“Butter, Danish, 3 73s to 1745; New Zealand unsalted, 16Ss to 1725; salted, 169 s to 1725: market slow. Cheese: New Zealand white, S9s to 90s; coloured, 91s to 925; market steady.” Newton King, Ltd., from their principals, R. and W. Davidson, Ltd.:— ‘Butter, salted, 169 s to 1725; unsalted, 16Ss to 1725; wheys, firsts, 158 s, 1565; seconds, 3 525, 3 50s; cheese, coloured, 93s To 925; white, S9s to 90s; market slow.” Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., from their London office, dated July 13:—“Butter, Our prices unchanged: Anchor, 1725; market firming in anticipation of improved demand. Danish, 174 s on the spot; 16Ss f.0.b.; retails unchanged. Cheese: White, 90s; coloured, 925: market steady; rather firmer. Retail unchanged.”

DAIRYING INDUSTRY

NORTHERN WAIROA COMPANY (From Our Own Correspondent) DARGAVILLE, Today. A total output for the season of 2,210 tons of butter is shown in the annual report of the Northern Wairoa Dairy Company. During the season the company advanced £309,497 to suppliers. The payments already made and the final payment recommended make the average payments for the season 18.4 d a lb. of butter-fat, exclusive of cream cartage.
