NOVEL ROAD RACE
PEDESTRIAN TO TACKLE MOTORISTS HAMILTON TO CAMBRIDGE (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Saturday. A novel road race between a motorist, motor-cyclist, cyclist and pedestrian from Hamilton to Cambridge (13| miles), to take place this weekend was postponed. Although the marathon would not have been held in any case owing to the adverse weather conditions, the promoters state that the decision not to run the race this week-end was made because of the publication of a preliminary announcement in a local newspaper. It was thought that police officers and traffic inspectors would exercise special vigilance on the Hamilton-Cam-bridge Road as a result of the intimation. The contestants have no intention of abandoning the race, which will be held at a later date. Next time the reporters will not be informed until after the race.
