At the special concert given by the Auckland Artillery Band in tlie Majestic Theatre last evening for tne earthquake relief fund, the sum or £25 10s was collected, from which a s mall sum has to be deducted to co\ er expenses. , Two musical monologues contributea by Miss Edna Langmuir were much appreciated. Master C. F. Thompson Played a cornet solo, “The I>jst Chord.” The band, under the baton o Warrant-Officer J. Wynne-Smith. Played the fantasia “In a Monastery Garden,” the march “Simplicity, the overture “Tancredi.” and the tobe Poem. “The Unfinished Symphony. The assisting vocalists were Millioent O’G.rady, Miss Beryl Smith, and Mr. Len Barnes.
