UNPROFITABLE LODGER

BORROWED MONEY AND LEFT Unable to pay his board, George Morris Scrimgeour borrowed £1 from a woman without asking permission, and sallied forth with a suitcase also belonging to somebody else. He pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning on a charge of theft. Chief-Detective Hammond said that he thought the boy, whose nge was 18, was worthy of a chance. He had been previously before the court but was then admonished. He had just found work, and his employer was willing to keep him on. Scrimgeour was admitted to probation for 12 months and ordered to make restitution of 30s. Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M.. advised the youth to have a talk with the probation officer.
