REPARATIONS PARLEY

HOPES FOR COMMENCEMENT EARLY IN AUGUST FRANCE AGREES TO DATE British Official "Wireless Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Thursday. In the House of Commons, the Parliamentary Under - Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dalton, said negotiations regarding the meeting of the projected Reparations Conference were in progress between the Governments of Great Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Japan. With regard to the date, he hoped the conversations would begin early next month. A French Note dealing with the proposed Reparation Conference has been received by the British Foreign Office. It is understood that France agrees to the date being fixed for August 5 or 6. The Note expresses guarded acquiescence in the British view that instead of three conferences there should be only one, which should deal simultaneously with political, financial and economic issues. The Note concludes by stating once more the objections of France to Dondon as the venue for the conference. It advocates some neutral meeting place. The British Government will reply without delay.
