Round the Churches
Archbishop Averill will preach at the evening service at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and members of the notary Hub will attend the service. In the morning the acting-vicar will preach. Fathers’ Day will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow. The Rev. Charles Chandler will preach in the morning and afternoon and Canon Grant Cowen in the evening.
• * * The Rev. W. Walker will conduct both services in the Pitt Street Methodist Church tomorrow. In the morning the subject of his sermon will be The Grandeur of the Commonplace,” and, in the evening, “Life’s Deepest Needs, and How Jesus Meets Them.” The Rev. W. Gilmour will conduct the service tomorrow morning in the Ldendale Presbyterian Church. In the evening Mr. J. Priestley, Dominion secretary of the Sudan Mission, will speak. The Rev. J. Pattison will speak at both services in the Somerville Church. The Revc L. C. Horwood will conduct the Methodist Mission service in Airedale Street tomorrow morning. In the evening he will preach in the Strand Theatre, and the film, ‘‘The Fool," will be shown. A community mission service will be held in the Zealandia Hall, Dominnion Road, at 7 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. George Jackson will preach on Can Man Know God?” * * * An open circle will be held in the Spiritual Scientists’ Church, Ponsonb3\ 3 p.m. tomorow. At 7 p.m. Mrs. Karris-Roberts will give an inspired address on “The Mind of^Mary.” The Rev. J. G. Hughes will preach at the Progressive Church of Spiritualists, Newmarket, at 7 p.m., when the case of the conscientious objectors "ill be considered. * * # The services in St. John’s Methodist Church, Ponsonby Road, tomorrow, "ill be conducted by the Rev. Arthur Mitchell at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. At the evening service. Mrs. Kerry will sing solo, “The Way of Peace,” and the 'hoir will sing the anthem, “Sun of -"y Soul.” The series of Unity Hall lectures be continued tomorrow afternoon, Mr. C. J.
