BABY NEARLY DROWNED

FALL INTO SHALLOW POOL SMALL BROTHER’S PROMPTITUDE (From Our Oim Correspondent) TE KUITI, Friday. The 18-month-old daughter of Mr. C. Prince, of Tawa Street, Te Kuiti, had a narrow escape from drowning yesterday, when she fell into a pool of water. In company with her elder brother aged 4J years, the little girl scrambled through a hole in the garden fence on to the adjoining section, where there were a number of pools. The child slipped into one of these with about a foot of water in it, and was unable to get on to her feet again. Her young brother Immediately ran home and informed the mother. On arrival the mother found the child lying face downward in the water and unconscious. She rushed over to a neighbour's house with the child where artificial respiration was re--sorted to. A doctor was summoned and after a time the child recovered.
