DRAINAGE COMPLAINT
NO OFFICIAL PROMISE Stating that when he went to lhr® in Woodsido Street, St. Heliers, fl^ e years ago, he was assured that deep drainage would be put through his district in IS months from then, Mr. A E. Murray wrote to the City Councn last evening asking when the drainage would be provided. , The acting city engineer reported that no such promise had been made by any official in his department s *nc€ the amalgamation of Tamaki with tee city, and it was the council’s polic> to follow that laid down by the Tamaki Road Board, to reticulate those areas which, were closely built upon. Tho area in question was not included in the programme, but on completion of the present work at the end of 12 months there seemed no reason why the district referred to should not be drained. A reply will be sent in terms o' the report.
