DIVINITY STUDENTS AND DRILL.— The two Auckland divinity students, Mr. A. M. Richards, B.A. (left) and Mr. Alex Miller, whose refusal to attend military drill on conscientious grounds, led to their being fined £5 each and deprived of their civil rights for 10 years. Yesterday the Minister of Justice, the Hen. T. M. Wilford, refused the request of a deputation from the Presbyterian Church to remit their punishment.
