RUGBY UNION DISCUSSES FALWASSER The question of Albert Falwasser, the brilliant Manukau player, was discussed by the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union in committee last evening. After several members had spoken, the chairman, Mr. H. Frost, stated that he had no decision to be made public. TT was decided to thank the Varsity -*• Hongi Club for its efforts in collecting £69 for earthquake relief at Eden .Park last Saturday. Letters of thanks will also be forwarded to the North Shore and Manurewa Clubs which collected £5 10s Sd and , £1 9s 4d respectively for the same object last week. The committee resolved to do all in its power to assist the Eden Club in the jumble sale which it intends to hold in the near future. The Referees’ Association was given permission to travel to Helensville and play the Kaipara junior representatives on August 31. A request by the Hamilton High School to play a curtain-raiser against Mount Albert Grammar at Eden Park on July 20 was referred to the Match Committee. The decision of the Judicial Board in ordering J. Urimble, who was sent from the field last Saturday, to stand down for one playing Saturday, was approved. A. S. Bond and R. D. Smith were recommended to the New Zealand Rugby Union for reinstatement. It was resolved to play a curtainraiser between the Hamilton and Auckland third grade intermediate teams on August 3, as a preliminary to the representative match between Waikato and Auckland.
