GREAT OLD SIRE
TJROGENY of that wonderful old . horse, Gqld Bell, collected £7,590 in prize money during the season just terminated, the chief contributor to this amount being Gold Jacket, who credited owner Ted Parkes with a cheque for £3,225. The Abbey added £1,070 to his sire’s total, while the evergreen All 6?l| was responsible for £647. Gold Sell has kept his position in the list consistently during the last six years, his offspring having in that period | £43,110, an average of £7,185 per annum. Considering that the son of Capitalist was not blessed with a choice of high-class mares for mating purposes, his record is a • particularly good one, and, given rarer opportunities, Gold ,Bell would have undoubtedly produced some great descendants.
