OPOTIKI HOSPITAL BOARD

With the view of amending the scale of fees for operations for X-ray and general patients, the Opotiki Hospital Board at its monthly meeting decided to ascertain the fees charged at other hospitals.

The Xurses and Mid wives' Registration Board wrote approving of an application that the Opotiki Hospital be limited as a training school for nurses. It was suggested that nurses could complete their training in some other hospital. The Director-General of Health intimated the necessity of making provision for proper storage of X-ray films in view of the recent disaster in an American hospital. It was deto comply with the request. The chairman reported that special shelter had been made for tuberculosis patients, but further additions were urgently needed.

The board’s architect is to be instructed to incorporate this when drawing up plans for other additions to the hospital. Improvements to the hospital grounds were also authorised.
